Danced Til Midnight releases new instrumental ‘A Fleeting Visit’
Essex-based DJ and producer Danced Til Midnight returns with new groovin instrumental “A Fleeting Visit”, a contemplative and emotive piece. An evocative and earthly soundscape delivers this instrumental track which is by turns funky, haunting, playful and soulful; contrasting sentiments that are yet one and the same in the journey of all things that are passing through, on this fleeting visit.
The funky drumming of Jack Baker (Alice Russell / Bonobo tours) lays the groovy foundation over which haunting guitars float – the clean reverberated lines recalling the 1960s. The surrounding natural ambience is provided by DTM lead Andy Anderson working with the renowned Prairie Sun Recording studio, the unique acoustics of that space are also heard on such albums as Bone Machine and Mule Variations by Tom Waits.
There is a Mothership Connection with this single – the bass guitar is played by Lige Curry, P-Funk Allstar and bassist with funk godfather George Clinton’s live band. The low end vibrations provided by Lige adds a melody and counterpoint of its own in a whole other funky realm – a stellar performance.
Once again, Stingray Davies of UK funk band Speedometer graces this release with additional Hammond organ and electric piano, further adding to the dusty soundscape.
The track has an abstract and beguiling visualiser, where nature reclaims edifice.
