Synth-heavy sunset grooves in new single ‘My Love’ by Al Sunny

“My Love” is the new single by Nimes-based French singer-songwriter Al Sunny, and it’s a slice of synth-heavy, soulful sunset grooves and the second track to anticipate his upcoming album Summer End.

Al Sunny says about “My Love”: “The vocal influence came from ‘Baiana’ by the Brazilian group Barbatuques. I was drawn to that Brazilian feel — rhythmic, organic, warm, and a little hypnotic. ‘My Love’ started as a jam. I’d had the main theme stuck in my head for years, and it finally came together during that session. The guitar solo wasn’t meant to be showy. I wanted it to be simple, smooth, and supportive, something you can listen to without even realizing it’s a solo. It blends into the song naturally. Synths play a key role in the arrangement. They add depth and help create that floating, spacious feeling. I wanted the track to be soft yet alive, both easy to listen to and emotionally rich, like an instrumental love letter”.

Summer End will mark a significant evolution in his artistic journey while staying true to the essence of his previous work. While soul and pop remain at the heart of Al Sunny’s writing, Summer End incorporates fresh influences from artists like Sault, Khruangbin, Daniel Caesar, Anderson .Paak and Tom Misch.
