Soul Sugar meets Dub Shepherds drop second single ‘Disco Jack’

Following their reggaelicious cover of Curtis Mayfield’s stone-cold soul classic Give Me Your Love, Guillaume Metenier aka Soul Sugar and Dub Shepherds return with another sneak peak into upcoming album Blue House Rockin’, set for release in September 2025, in the form of a second single!

This time, they cover the dark organ instrumental “Disco Jack” originally by Jamaican keyboard king Jackie Mittoo!

Recorded live in the studio, the four musicians deliver a blazing hot version where the groove is tight, the organ roars like a lion, and everything is surrounded by wild percussion and sound effects pouring out of the mixing board—channeling deep ‘70s roots vibes with a touch of funk.

Mixed the old-school way on a 24-track tape recorder, analog console and vintage hardware, the original cut comes with a massive dub version—both mixed by the Dub Shepherds at their own Bat Records studio.

“Disco Jack” out on Digital download on July 11th 2025  via Gee Recordings
