DeRobert & The Half-Truths drop new soul single ‘Thievin & Robbin’
German label Golden Rules continues bringing the heat with the 11th track lifted from their upcoming label sampler scheduled for release in September. This time they take us to Nashville, Tennessee, home of DeRobert & The Half-Truths, an outfit that combines powerful vocals and raw soul instrumentation since 2010.
New single “Thievin’ & Robbin” is a warm soul number that sees DeRoberts’ deep voice layered over heavy-hitting drums, effortless bass, tight horns and rhythmic guitar. The song displays a firm grip on the rhythmic groove and melodic aesthetic of the old days, but with a modern approach to those retro sensibilities.
