Leading Estonian jazz singer Sofia Rubina is proud to release new single and video “Great Life” from her new album I Am Soul.
“Great Life” is a slice of uplifting and summery soul-jazz celebrating all the good things in life. It’s a tribute to the great American singer Al Jarreau, with lyrics by Martin Palm and music composed by Sofia Rubina who says, “I like the playfulness and energy of this song! The lyrics really put everything on pause! Every time I’m singing it live – I remember why I love music in the first place.”
“Great Life” is a song of optimism and joy, and is a snapshot of Sofia‘s current musical journey, capturing the moment and showcasing her remarkable talent. Sofia’s influences include Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Roy Hargrove, Robert Glasper, Hiatus Kaiyote, Angie Stone, Jill Scott, Kim Burrell, The Baylor Project, and Incognito. She collaborated with LRK Trio to create a cohesive sound with a modern jazz feel, focusing on rhythmic patterns to bring the music to life.
Sofia Rubina is well recognized in Estonia since being awarded Best Jazz Album of the Year from the Estonian Music Awards in 2016 for In The Land of Oo-Bla-Dee as released through Dreams of Tomorrow production.
