Imagine a band that is Sharon Jones meets James Brown while putting a modern twist on 70s soul and funk music. Whether with self-composed original tracks or classic covers, Bella Brown & The Jealous Lovers capture an era boldly envisioned!

Originally hailing from Chicago but now based in Los Angeles, Bella Brown & The Jealous Lovers is composed of a team of artists whose previous explorations include Eric Clapton, Nick Waterhouse, Coolio, Iggy Pop, Beyonce, Fleetwood Mac, Whitney Houston, Prince, Jane’s Addiction, Isaac Hayes, Lettuce, Snarky Puppy, Dumpstaphunk, Queen Latifah, Marcus Miller, Justin Timberlake, Meshell Ndegeocello, Soulive, and Shelia E!

Born from the creative genius of Grammy-winning vocalist/songwriter Carol Hatchett, sister funk queen Bella Brown emerges as a diva with a fiery stage presence, channeling the empowered female leads of 70s Blaxploitation films. Hatchett is a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and choreographer who was one of the infamous Harlettes, the bakcup singers / dancers for Bette Midler, touring the world and appearing in the Emmy-winning Diva Las Vegas” HBO Special. Hatchett has also recently been a credited on Jon Batiste’s Grammy-winning album We Are as a background vocalist.

Having made their recording debut in 2018 with the self-released digital EP Get Mine, followed up by second digital EP Rocket 3 years later, in 2021 the band signed with renowned UK label LRK Records and released a number of their tunes on 45 which went immediately sold-out, while recording fresh new material to be released on their third full-length Soul Clap, dropping in 2024 not only digitally but also on vinyl and cd!
