The unique sonic atmosphere of Afrodream’s music arises from a fusion of African rhythms and enchanting melodies with a Western influence. Abou Samb’s lyrics, imbued with themes of hope and tinged with a gentle melancholy, soar over these rich musical foundations.

This harmonious sound is the result of a collaboration between musicians from diverse cultural and musical backgrounds, who have skillfully found both rhythmic and melodic balance. The result is high-energy live performances that create an almost cathartic atmosphere, inviting audiences to dance and immerse themselves in the music.

Afrodream’s artistic journey includes the release of two EPs: Afrodream in 2018 followed by Jam Sa Sounè in 2019, as well as their debut album La Teranga in 2020, funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign on Musicraiser.

The band has participated in prominent showcase festivals, including Jazzahead, WOMEX OFF, and Italy World Music, which have contributed to expand their reach within the global music scene. Following numerous performances across Italy, Switzerland, and France, Afrodream embarked on a highly anticipated tour in Senegal, where they were honored guests at the Retba Festival, held on the scenic shores of Lake Rose in Dakar. They have also performed across Europe, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and the UK, sharing the stage with Chilean band Newen Afrobeat.

Their latest single, “Ethnique“, features Rumba de Bodas and was launched in May 2024, serving as a precursor to their upcoming sophomore album, scheduled for release in autumn 2025.
