Shane Sato and Box Dreams release new indie soul single ‘Deep Dive’

Following his sold-out show at LA’s Moroccan Lounge on December 12th, Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Shane Sato returns with “Deep Dive” a moody, indie-leaning track created in collaboration with his Los Angeles band, Box Dreams, and the second single lifted from his upcoming sophomore album Wavelength.

Originally conceived as an instrumental, “Deep Dive” came to life when a melody inspired Sato to bring in Box Dreams frontman Adam Rhodes, whose raspy vocal perfectly matches the song’s dark, soulful edge. Written collectively with bandmates and built on late-night sessions that shaped its intimate lyrics, the song explores the exhilarating plunge into new love. Serving as a deeper, more melancholic counterpart to bright first single Never Let You go feat. Oli-J, “Deep Dive” highlights the indie, jazzy, and cooler textures that define a new dimension of sound from his upcoming album.

Wavelength is an ode to collaboration, love and the calming flow of water. Featuring a powerhouse lineup of collaborators and friends, this upcoming album paints a palette of warm, vibrant colours and explores multiple genres from jazz to indie to soul. The full-length is expected to drop in the Spring of 2026, and is a follow-up of Shane’s acclaimed debut Until We Meet Again, which garnered 1million+ streams.
