Second single ‘Not Pretending’ from Kat Eaton’s upcoming album

Welsh born, Yorkshire-based soul/jazz artist Kat Eaton reveals her brand new single Not Pretending”, the second track from her upcoming third studio album What Happens Now, due out in March 2026 on her own label Reason & Rhyme.

“This song is about being tired of people-pleasing, realising the benefits of being your authentic self and working towards being proud of who you are, no more shape-shifting, shrinking to fit”, Kat explains. “Not Pretending” was inspired by Stevie Wonder and comes straight from the soul — jazz-soaked, honest, and real.

Kat has established herself as one of the hardest working and talented performers in her field. Having already toured the UK/EU supporting the likes of Gregory Porter, Jools Holland, Paul Carrack, The Teskey Brothers, Marc Broussard and Mamas Gun, alongside selling out multiple headline shows in the UK and EU (Ronnie Scotts in London, Unterfhart Jazz Club in Munich, Jazz Club Etoile in Paris and Jassmine in Warsaw among others), she’s also co-written with the likes of Caro Emerald, Ruby Turner and Roberta Campos, and broken through to new territories via national radio play-listing in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy.
