MT Jones’ highly anticipated debut album ‘Joy’ has finally landed
Before even releasing an album, Liverpudlian singer and songwriter MT Jones‘ music has been featured on BBC 2, BBC 6, Jazz fm, national stations in France (FIP), Italy (Radio Capital), Spain (Radio 3), Switzerland (RSI), and on magazines such as Echoes, Detail Mag and Rockerilla. Live performances include recent headliner shows at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles, Baby’s All Right in New York and Islington Assembly Hall in London, while 2026 will see him go on an extensive EU tour and perform at SXSW Festival.
Joy is the eagerly anticipated debut album from rising star MT Jones, blending soulful vocals with modern R&B production and jazzy inflections. Across its runtime, the full-length promises a dynamic emotional arc, exploring love, loss, and personal growth, with a rich, narrative-driven sequence of songs. “I Don’t Understand“ and “Why I Cry“ hint at introspective themes. “Easy” and “So Lost” suggest moments of vulnerability and soulful self-reflection. Other titles such as “Gentle Reminder“ and “On Your Own” underscore resilience and inner strength. “Tastes Like You” and “You Don’t Love Me Now” point to candid explorations of relationships. While the track “Her Name Is Joy” seems poised to be a central, thematic highlight.
Musically, the album blends smooth r&b grooves with rich lyrical storytelling. Joy showcases MT Jones’ growth as a songwriter and vocalist on the cusp of a major release. Fans can expect a mix of heartfelt ballads and mid-tempo soulful tracks. The album’s title reflects an emotional core—finding light amid challenge.
