Last single ‘Ain’t No Lovin’ from the new album by Angels Of Libra

“Ain’t No Lovin” is the fourth and final single from upcoming new album Road To Mandalay by Hamburg soul collective Angels Of Libra, and once again it features Irish singer Nathan Johnston on vocals. The song is a smooth soul stepper, with a bold brass section and strings reminiscent of early E.L.O. records. It was written in Transmission Rooms Studios in Longford, Ireland – where Shane McGowan of the Pogues recorded his final album and recordings were made between Dublin and Yeah Yeah Yeah Studios in Hamburg.

Originally the song began when Johnston was writing lyrics for the chorus of the 2024 single “Barbara”. The band’s guitarist/producer Dennis Rux suggested listening to a song called “Ain’t No Lovin” for some inspiration. However, after searching for the track, Johnston discovered that the song didn’t actually exist… So it was decided they would have to write it. A few months later, during a writing session in Ireland to after the band performed at Electric Picnic music festival, the single was born. Lyrically the song is about lost love and the feeling following a break up when it seems like you’ll never find love again or nothing will be the same without that person in your life. Nathan Johnston says: “We chose this song as the opening track for the album as it serves as the beginning of a story of redemption from lost love”.

Road to Mandalay will be released on LP, CD & Digitally on January 30th via Waterfall Records and marks the fourth full-length release for the Angels!
