A tribute to strong women in Afrodream’s new single ‘Jambar’
Afrodream is a multicultural collective based in Italy with members from Senegal, Argentina, France, and Italy. Their sound is alive with drums, horns, storytelling, and soul, fusing afrobeat with global elements that connect audiences across borders.
New single “Jambar”, written and arranged by Abou Samb and produced by Luca Vergano, is a heartfelt declaration of love, respect, and gratitude towards those women who face life’s daily challenges with their heads held high, staying true to their values and ideals. In Wolof, a language spoken in Senegal and other parts of West Africa, “Jambar” means “warrior”. It is a word charged with meaning and symbolism — a tribute to all those women who embody courage, determination, and dignity, even in the face of adversity.
“Jambar is our tribute to all the women who resist, who keep hope and love alive even in the most difficult circumstances”, say the members of Afrodream. “It’s a celebration of that silent, steady, and sometimes invisible strength that makes these women true warriors — and an invitation to recognize and honor their extraordinary contributions to the community”.
The sound of the track reflects Afrodream’s identity: a blend of African roots, soul, jazzy inflections, and contemporary tones. Warm guitars, vibrant percussion, and an intense vocal performance create an immersive atmosphere, while Luca Vergano’s production enhances every emotional detail of the track.
